The Ultimate Fryer Cookbook (Quintet Book)
Editorial Reviews:
Product Description For many people, comfort food means french fries, doughnuts, fried chicken, fritters, or potato chips. In fact, deep-frying appears in nearly every global cuisine, in the form of samosas, egg rolls, fritto misto, or some other everyday delicacy. The keys to success are proper equipment, temperature, technique, and choice of cooking oil. This sumptuous collection of recipes from around the world includes mushroom and scallion wontons, Vietnamese rice rolls, and Southern fried chicken with cream gravy. It's a complete guide to deep-frying for the lightest, crispest, most healthful--and delectable--results.
Customer Reviews:
Review #1: Great book for beginers! 2009-05-01 It is my first time trying my hand at deep frying and I was worried I might just end up burning everything to a crisp, so I looked around for books to aid me and after reading a few reviews chose this one. It is absolutely excellent, beyond what I was hoping for and worth every penny. It tells you all about oils to use, different recipes for frying batter and gives all sorts of recipes for food that I would never have thought of as deep fried foods. Some of it is almost gourmet from the looks of the pictures in the book, which is another great feature as it shows you what most of the dishes will look like when made properly.
Review #2: Good resource. 2009-02-20 This is a very specialized book of course but if you want to know how to fry it will cover pretty much everything you need to know. I don't use it often but it is nice to have on hand when I need to check things like cooking temperature for different oils or how thin to slice different foods.
Review #3: Another cook book 2009-01-13 Ordered this to go with a new deep fryer. I have only used one recipe so far, but after a review of the book, it appears to have many interesting ways to use the deep fryer that I am looking forward too for many years to come.
Review #4: Great cookbook 2008-07-30 Nice photos and simple to follow. Just purchased a deepfryer and had no idea what to make or how to do it, the book was perfect.
Review #5: Great cookbook 2008-03-05 This cookbook gives clear, concise instructions, even for the novice. The beautiful photos pique your appetite for trying new dishes. |
