Editorial Review Like the gun toted by the cowboy hero with whom it shares its name, the Maverick is a six shooter. Unlike the gun that other Maverick had, however, this weapon shoots only soft suction darts that can fly across a room and adhere to a window or other glass surface. The Maverick features a rotating barrel, which makes it easier to keep the firepower flying in the midst of heated battle and a futuristic look to better engender sci-fi fantasy play if you so choose. For a little extra power boost, the gun also has a pump mechanism. In our informal test, the darts flew surprisingly far and impressively straight. --Charlie Williams

Review #1: How to make it so you can give it 5 stars. 2007-07-24 O.k, first off, I would have given this gun 4 stars, but then one day I decided I needed to buy more bullets, probably because I didn't have enough darts for all my guns. I bought some Sonic Micro Darts to try out with my Maverick. The first thing I noticed was they looked cooler in the barrel of my Maverick. But it get's better. I fired and it flew far. Really far. At least 3 FEET FARTHER! Plus they whistle, so it sounds like bullets are whizzing over your head. With the Sonic Micro darts, the Maverick is top notch. Also, you can modify it even if you think your bad at doing stuff like that. There's 2 little plastic pieces to cut off, and then the barrel comes out all the way, which makes reloading faster. I dont have any problems with this gun, except for somtimes the barrel can't spin because a dart is sticking up. Just push it down.
Remember, I gave it 5 stars BECAUSE I'm using Nerf Sonic Micro Darts not normal micro darts. Without Sonic Micros, the range is bad.

Review #2: Maverick 2007-04-28 This gun works great! It is very accurate and shoots far. It has a six shot barrel that is pretty easy to reload. This gun is perfect for a nerf war. It lasts a long time but slowly will decrease in performance. You will get a good 4 to 5 years out of it. This is definitly on of nerfs best guns!
Review #3: The best entertainment I had for ~$10 2007-04-16 Excellent!
Shoots fast and to where you aim. Yet it's not so fast that it would hurt anyone. Made very well, I tried a lot of things with it like putting my finger where the bullet comes out or whatever.. it's built very well. You can't break it or get hurt from it.
Review #4: Best Nerf gun you can get for under ten bucks 2007-03-27 A great gun. I just love the way it looks and feels. It can be a teensy bit hard to load quickly though; the cylinder doesn't swing out very far, and you have to use a finger on the other side to keep it from moving back into the gun. But that's a small nitpick. Because of the way it works, it can jam when fired point-blank, but that's easy to fix. If you get this gun, do yourself a favor and buy a pack of extra darts at the same time. Unless you're a neat-freak whose house is totally devoid of crevices and gaps, you *will* lose darts. The range on the gun is pretty good; the darts can go about 30 feet (though you have to angle the gun up a little to compensate for their quick rate of fall relative to velocity). Oh, and the gun is very rugged -- mine's been tortured a fair amount and nothing's broken on it yet.
If you've never had a nerf gun before, this is the perfect one to start with.
Review #5: Pretty good 2007-03-23 There are a few things people have said here that are not true. first off, you can find refills at target. Second, it doesn't hurt even if highly modified. other than the range, this gun is great. |
