Review #1: Full of good advice 2009-04-13 Tom Avery is able to demonstrate on the video as well as verbally describe how to hit the ball in various situations. Very helpful video.
Review #2: Good Buy - Also Get The Consistent Tennis Wins 8 DVD Series 2008-01-30 Tom Avery doesn't over-complicate things, nor does he oversimplify them. You can't wait to apply what you've learned!
I have the whole 8 DVD series of his called, "Consistent Tennis Wins".
These DVDs deal with the: Serve Return of Serve Backhand Ability to Swing Net Play Singles & Doubles Tips Specialty Shots (lobs, slice, etc) and the Original
Review #3: Excellent for the Price 2007-07-21 Tom Avery does an excellent job of teaching tennis. His step by step approach with out overload is just what the student wants. Good for all level players. Will buy his DVD on serving.
Review #4: The BEST video(s) on the market 2006-09-29 I am an advanced player but I used to make a series of consistent mistakes. Tom's videos cured ALL! Tom Avery's videos are MUST HAVE if you are serious about improving your game. Having taken instruction from some former ATP Top 100 pros, Tom's instruction is up there with the best AND you can replay it over and over to pick up everything! Another must have is a video camera, if you REALLY want to improve your game because seeing is believing and you can't change what you can't see! You can compare your form to Tom's and see where you need to improve.
The only weak spot is his instruction on the Serve which I don't agree. Tom hits his serve in a way I've rarely seen and not the way I've been instructed before by former top touring pros. Moreover, he only hits one type of serve and doesn't really go into any detail. The USTA and USPTA (yes I am serious about tennis and have seen all the other videos including Bollietteri, Jensen, Annacone..etc. and recommend Tom's over all others on mechanics) both put out good DVDs on how to serve. That said, his Serve video does have good tips such as ball toss.
Mostly geared toward the beginner to intermediate players but helpful for even the most advance players too! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND his DVDs.
Review #5: Basic Tips for Begginers.. 2005-08-02 It would be better if the video had slow motion sequences. But in general, the video has several useful tips and advices. |
