Product Description Imagine having all your meals ready when you come home each day! This 6-quart cooking pot goes from heating/serving to stovetop, oven, refrigerator, freezer or dishwasher. It holds a whole chicken, ham or roast and offers low, medium and high settings for roasting or slow cooking, plus a keep warm setting for serving. The durable cooking pot has a premium nonstick (non-teflon) interior and stainless steel handles; a glass cover allows easy viewing as sauces simmer and meats sizzle. The handy lift-out rack lets you remove roasts and meat with ease. Cooking pot, cover and rack are all dishwasher-safe. Base is heat-resistant.
Amazon.com Review Versatile and convenient, this 6-quart pot can be used on the stovetop for cooking soup or stew, go into the oven for roasting a chicken or baking a casserole, and placed on its 210-watt heating base for slow-cooking a pot roast or keeping food warm while serving. For serving, the heating base's temperature control has a keep-warm setting. Medium and high settings permit cooking on the base. The oval aluminum pot, colored black like its heating base for contemporary style, has a nonstick interior and measures 12 inches long by 8-1/2 inches wide, ample for a chicken, ham, or roast beef. A lift-out rack is included for keeping food off the bottom so it can be thoroughly browned during roasting. The pot's glass lid permits cooking to be monitored without releasing heat, and the lid's knob stays cool on the stovetop. For easy cleanup, the pot, lid, and rack are dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

Review #1: Great slow cooker 2007-03-08 I love this cooker so much so I bought another one! That's how great this product means to me! I recommend this to everyone.
Review #2: West Bend Slow Cookers are the BEST! 2007-03-06 I have used mine for 20+ years. I am so glad to see that they are still on the market. The best roast is cooked in this cooker. Turn the cooker on HIGH. Place your roast(beef or pork),(frozen of thawed) in the cooker. I do add a tiny splash of olive oil and seasoning and an onion for flavor. Do NOT add water. It will make it's own juices. Add taters/carrots 1/2 way thru cooking time. Cook for 1/2 a day and it is ready for supper. always on HIGH. It's the best.
Review #3: Oval slo-cooker review by west Bend. 2007-02-24 Good quality for the money. Duel purpose is excellant, very nice finish. The oval design is great, giving you more room for stirring or any other purpose you need a large slo-cooker for.
Review #4: great product 2007-02-14 I love this slow cooker! I've had the old fashioned "crock pots" and they're great too, but this really lives up to its name. I love being able to brown meat right in the pot and then add the other ingredients and pop it on the base for the slow cooking. Browning the meat gives the recipes an extra boost of flavor that really makes them outstanding. I got this after reading about it in "Cook's Illustrated" and they're right on the money again!
Review #5: Good So Far... 2007-01-30 I have only used this slow cooker twice so far, but have had good results thus far. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU WASH IT IN THE DISHWASHER, BE SURE TO RUB THE NONSTICK FINISH WITH COOKING OIL EACH TIME AFTERWARD AS THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL SAYS. This may have contributed to some users' troubles with the nonstick finish peeling off. I agree with another user that the metal cooking rack would scratch the nonstick finish, so I am not going to use it. |
