Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review This attachment turns your KitchenAid stand mixer into a citrus juicer, eliminating the need for a second appliance that would take up valuable kitchen storage and counter space. Its four parts--heavy-duty aluminum shaft, reamer, shield, and strainer--are easy to assemble and attach to the stand mixer's powerful motor. Turn the mixer speed to level 6, and the reamer maintains a fast and steady spin. Press your fruit halves against it, and the juice pours out. You do have to exert a bit of pressure to extract all of the juice, but it's certainly not difficult to use. The strainer basket holds back the pulp and seeds as the juice flows into your pitcher. --Betsy Danheim

Review #1: Good utility juicer 2007-04-08 I have a KitchenAid machine (KA) constantly occupying space on my counter. This device gives it good capabilities for making citrus juices, and helps the KA earn its keep. Its construction is a bit lightweight, as it is all plastic (save for the aluminum drive shaft) - in particular, the housing fittings to KA are made of plastic, vs. the metal fittings common to other KA accesories. Juicing operation requires hand action, unsealed, so there is a bit of spatter on the counter during operation. I do not have experience with sealed, dedicated juicer units and so cannot make a comparison. But there is a practical advantage to having one central machining plant in the kitchen, such as KA, and I am satisfied with the operation of the juicer. Where I live, there are many outlets such as Costco or Asian markets that sell cheap citrus produce with a relatively short effective expiration date. This device enables one to quickly and relatively easily extract juice, and has saved me wastage of produce. It cleans easily in the dishwasher. The pulp catching tray seems to be well designed for processing of citrus - in ordinary operation, one gets a minimum pulp product, and can adjust to taste by adding some pulp from the tray.
Review #2: Great little gadget 2007-03-24 What I like about this is that it really will get every last drop out of your fruit and quickly! I found that there were a few drips down my hand, but not too bad. Very easy to install, clean, and store. Enjoy!
Review #3: Pleased with Juicer attachment 2007-03-09 I have only used this a few times, but so far it seems to work great. I only gave it 4 stars just because I have to hold the fruits carefully or they slip away from me because of the angle, but once I got used to it, it was no problem. I love all of my kitchenaid attachments.
Review #4: KitchenAid Citrus Juicer Stand Mixer Attachment 2007-03-08 I found this attachment easy to install and juiced 20 limes in no time.
Review #5: Quick & Painless 2007-03-05 I have decided to do the Master Cleanse and need to squeeze a lot of fresh lemons. At first I was doing this by hand, but I gave this juicer a shot and WOW. I got a lot more juice from the fruit and it was so much quicker, cleaner, and easier! Plus the price is good and it doesn't take up space. |
