Beef Tataki

Ingredients:

500 gm Beef
Nutmeg, salt, peper - to taste
100 cc light soy sauce
10 gm Japanese Stock Powder
20 cc boiled water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 pieces garlic
75 cc rice vinegar

Instructions:

1 .First things first, stab the boneless beef strip with a fork, lightly opening up small grooves. Then rub in the powdered nutmeg, salt and pepper. Marinate for two hours (30 minutes is sufficient if you’re in a rush).

2. Preheat the oven to 230°C. Prepare a frying skillet with a small portion of butter. Spread the butter consistently over the pan. Place the meat on the skillet and brown all the sides evenly then let the oil drain off. The meat is ready to be roasted in the oven for 1 0 minutes and 30 seconds.

3. Heat a saucepan and put in the light soy sauce, vinegar and water. Add all the ingredients and leave to boil. You will know that the sauce is done once the surface starts to simmer. Leave the sauce to cool.

4. Once the sauce is cool, dribble a bit over the beef sirloin. Decorate your meal and put extra sauce on the side.
