Steamed White Pomfret
1 white pomfret, cleaned (approximately 450 gm)
25 gm fresh ginger, shredded
11/2 tbsp cooking oil
2 tbsp soya sauce
Pinch of pepper
Dash of sesame oil
1 sprig Chinese parsley
1 sprig spring onion, sliced
1. Clean the pomfret and place on a heat-resistant plate. Place the ginger on the fish.
2. Heat up the oil, and add the soya sauce into the oil. Stir gently until fragrant and set aside.
3. Bring 3 bowls of water to boil in a wok. Place a steaming rack inside and steam the pomfret (with the heat resistant plate) for 15 minutes.
4. Remove the fish, and pour the sauce on top of the fish. Sprinkle pepper and sesame oil on the fish for more flavour. Serve hot and garnish with Chinese parsley and spring onions.
