Kiwi Fruit


Kiwi fruit is the size of a large plum and has an inedible brown furry exterior. It has almost twice as much vitamin C as an orange and a single fruit provides the full daily requirement of vitamin C for an adult. It also supplies potassium, fibre and vitamin E. It contains about 10% sugar and provides about 30 calories per fruit.

The flesh of the kiwi is also a good tenderizer for meat. Leave chicken, pork or beef in a kiwi marinade for just 20 minutes before grilling - it makes quite a different. Look out fro the golden kiwi, it is sweet with folden flesh.
